What's Coming in September

Something is shifting on this corner and I want you to know about it before it happens.
We've been building toward this since December. The dough program, the ingredients, the team, the blog posts, the breakfast program, all of it has been pointing somewhere. September is when it starts to show on the outside.
The sign
I ordered a neon sign from Noble Signs in New York City. If you know, you know. Noble restores and makes the signs that hang in the pizzerias I grew up with, the ones that have been glowing in the same window for thirty years, the ones that feel like they belong. When I walked past those places as a kid the sign was part of the feeling. It told you something real was inside. That sign is coming to this corner. I'm more excited about it than I probably should be. It's going to look exactly right.
The window
The painted window is getting updated. The World Cup art was fun and it did its job. What's coming next is more permanent, more lilguy, more of what this place is becoming. The window is the first thing people see walking down Abbot Kinney and it should tell the story before they even walk in.
The inside
The display counter is going. You know the one, the sneeze guard setup that makes it hard to actually see the slices. We're opening that up. The pizza should be visible, approachable, right there in front of you when you walk in. A slice shop should feel like a slice shop. You should be able to see exactly what you're getting before you order it.
Small change. Big difference in how the place feels.
lilguy
lilguy is what this shop has always been capable of being. I just needed nine months to get here. The neon goes in. The window gets painted. The counter opens up. Some new furniture to sit on. And then we introduce ourselves properly. Shop will remain open, building the plane as we fly.
