Pizza Delivery in Venice CA

Most delivery pizza is a compromise. You've opened the box, seen the flattened cheese and the soggy crust, and eaten it anyway because you were hungry. That's not delivery working, that's delivery being tolerated.

I think about delivery differently.

When I rebuilt the dough program at Abbot's, delivery was part of the calculation from the start. The right flour, the right hydration, 48-hour ferment, these make a pizza that holds up in the box and tastes the way it's supposed to when you open it at home.

What delivery is actually for

Wednesday night, nobody wants to cook. The game is on and you've got people over. Movie night, just got home starving. This is what pizza is for, the neighborhood spot that shows up when you need it and delivers something worth eating.

What to order

The crust needed to be sturdy enough to hold up in transit and reheat well. Not the microwave, never the microwave. Toaster oven or 400 degrees, one to a few minutes. You can tell when the pizza is happy. The crust crisps back up, the cheese wakes up. Honestly it might be better reheated. I'll stand behind that.

Start with the plain mootz. 20 inches, $27.95. Rich creamy cheese, sauce that tastes like tomato not sugar, crust that folds right. This is the one I'd stake everything on. Add the pepperoni for a group, edges crisp, little heat at the finish. The salad pizza is the Venice original since 1995, order it for the table, someone will become obsessed. Throw in a Sloppy Caesar if you're doing a full order. It travels well.

Where we deliver

Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey, Culver City, and Playa Vista. Order on our site, DoorDash, or Uber Eats.

I live here. You're not ordering from a call center, you're ordering from the guy who rebuilt the dough and is here every day making sure it's right.
