School is back. Kids sports are back. The NFL is back. Friday through Sunday just got a lot more complicated and a lot more fun at the same time. This is pizza season.
The Friday through Sunday reality
You've got a game on. Someone's got practice in the morning. The kids need to eat, you need to eat, and nobody wants to cook. This is exactly what delivery is for, not as a fallback, not as a compromise, but as the actual right call. Order a pie Friday night. Order one Saturday before the game. Order one Sunday and eat it while you watch. This is what weekends are supposed to feel like. We deliver to Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey, Culver City, and Playa Vista.
Order more than you think you need
Here's the thing about football pizza. You're going to want leftovers. Not because you planned for them, but because cold pizza at halftime is one of life's genuine pleasures and you should lean into that. Order an extra pie. Plain mootz is the move. The pepperoni holds up too. If you've got a group, throw in a salad pizza. It's been the Venice original since 1995 and someone at the table will become obsessed.
How to reheat it right
This is important so pay attention. Not the microwave. Never the microwave. The microwave turns pizza into a soft, sad version of itself and that is not what we built.
Here's what you do: toaster oven or regular oven, 400 degrees, one to a few minutes. Watch it, don't time it. You'll know it's ready when the cheese wakes back up and the crust crisps underneath. Pick it up and listen. If you can hear it, it's ready.
We're a slice shop. This is how it works. You buy a slice, you eat it, you take one home, you reheat it tomorrow. The dough is built for this, 48-hour ferment, the right hydration, the right structure. A lot of people say it's better on the reheat. I believe them. We designed it that way whether we knew it or not. Not every pizza can say that. Ours can.
The breakfast connection
If you're ordering Friday night and there are rolls in the house, we do bacon, egg and cheese on a pizza dough roll Friday through Sunday mornings, 9am to 12pm, $5. Order the pie Friday night, reheat a slice Saturday morning with your coffee, and then come in or order the BEC before the afternoon game. That's a weekend.
